here's what you need to do:

connect the following pins..



end A                            end B

pin1------------------------------pin1
pin2------------------------------pin3
pin3------------------------------pin2
pin4----                      ----pin4
       |                      |
pin5----                      ----pin5

pin6----                      ----pin6
       |                      |
pin8----                      ----pin8
       |                      |
pin20---                      ---pin20

in english:

connect pin 1 to pin 1,
connect pin2 on one end to pin3 on the other end
connect pin3 on that end to pin 2 on the other end
on each end, connect pin 4 to pin 5, but do not connect
to the other end at all.  ditto for connecting pins 6,8 and
20 on each end.

that's the simplest null-modem cable you can make.
