I haven't had your problem with Fritz7, but your symptoms indicate to me:
  1) You do NOT have a virus, but updating your virus definition file from
the McAfee site and running it again is not a bad idea.

  2) My best guess is that either Fritz7 or one of your other programs you
ran during the tournament, has a bug working within the memeory
     constraints of your system.

(In my opinion, this is an area of software compatibility that is not
nearly fully tested before the software release.)

My advice is to first re-install Windows, AND consider either increasing your
memory, AND/OR, in your program properties (memory), see if you can increase the
memory available to Fritz7, especially when running minimized.

You may find the problem is with Fritz7, but I suspect the problem in an
interactive one that doesn't happen unless you run Fritz7 minimized with other
programs running in the foreground.

Just my ideas, I have not experienced this with Fritz7, but have with other
programs, when running in the background, in windows. The 16 bit windows are
much worse in this regard than WinNT or Win2000.

Hope this helps and good luck.
