Could you make a test on this with Fritz 7? Here it is: Compare all your suggested pondermove with the move you get back in the position string. Let it run for many games. I ask because if you not set the ponder move in your bestmove string as you suggest, Fritz 7 will still send you a ponder position and use ponderhit. The test is to see if he only use the pv to find a pondermove or if he really use this ponder move in the bestmove string. I haven't Fritz 7 here now to test it and base my findings after looking at some logs. Odd Gunnar
