I am in the ROW team, of course, but a son of mine who studies in Los Angeles
became a US flag-waver. So for peace sake we don't discuss politics, can you
imagine? Children can become so absurd...

Last year I played 2, the Cadaqués and the BGN Qualifier, so this is a
sabbatical year. (easy way out)

Not really. What I think it should be done in an ideal world is replaying the
Qualifier. Last year I had 6 weeks between the first notice and the moment
Kramnik had to know which program he would play in Bahrain. Now, after so many
delays, there is plenty of time to do things better, more "candidates", calmer
selection process. But this is not an ideal world.
