The problem could possibly be much easier to resolve than you think. Did you see
Woody Allen's "Everybody says I love you"? I have in mind a particularly funny
plot twist revolving around Alan Alda (a Democrat) and his newly turned
Republican son. If you didn't see it, rent it. As a film it's ok, but that part
is priceless.
