It might well be that you lost some essential files in the backup procedure. When creating a book you normally get four files: *.ctg *.ctb *.cto *.ini I don't know the exact function of all of them, but you could try to copy the missing files from your DeepFritz CD-Rom and see if it runs after that. If you don't have those files anymore, it might be that the only thing left is to start building again. Good luck anyhow, J.
