The fact that the rook should NOT be taken is just giving the compliment to the sacrifice of the rook at d5...! Besides, there is a gain in tempo for white when black plays PxR, etc. In some cases, a knight may be of more value (in an attack) than a rook that is just not being used in the attack... The computor is "locked in" to the value of the pieces, and so fails to see the beautiful possibility of a mating combination here...(sending the knight to h5)..etc.
