Yes it should be no problem to find NiMH rechargeable batteries nowadays.
Why 3 pairs? I was using 2 pairs with my PalmIIIx and it was just fine. I had
bought a 4 pack at approximately $10. You also need the charger (generally $20).

Do you mean that Genius uses less power?
If so, then sorry but this is bullshit. They are both using 100% of the CPU when
they are thinking, and thus us approximately the same amount of battery power.
The rest of what you say is fine, but this remark is not.

Yes, I would advice the Nokia 8210 (or 8290 in the USA, or the sexier model
8310) as a mobile phone doing really well with the Palm. The IR port of the
Nokia makes communication easy with the Palm's IR port: no cable to plug when
you want to connect to the Net.
