I agree with you Albert, just look at my posting below re: ELO ect... Until a more formal absolute rating system is discovered, mandated, ect., then we only have estimates of peoples or programs playing strength relative to each other. At this time, it is not like scoreing a paper on mathematics, it is just a by guess and by golly system or it looks like it should be this. Take for an anology: Suppose that a programmer finds a really deep error in a champions playing strength and builds it into his program. He beats the GM in almost every game, but then other program which do not play to that weakness are able to beat his program more often than not. How would you calculate ratings? In other words program A beats Player B, but Program C beats Program A and does not have a chance against Player B. Life is full of inconsistencys Bill
