I'm sure Dann will correct me on this (as a matter of fact, I'm counting on it ;-). But I suspect that the higher ratings at faster time controls is simply because there are more players in the computer blitz pool and more games are being played -- resulting in faster rating inflation (which is an unavoidable by-product of the rating system -- kind of like salaries for sports stars). I don't think that you can say that a higher rating at one time control means that the player is STRONGER at that time control than at a slower time control. It's just a completely different ratings pool. jm
