"Alpha" refers to the testing stage of the program. When the program reaches a certain point in development (usually when almost all of the features and content are completed and ready for testing), it is designated as in the "Alpha" stage. "Beta" is when the program is considered to be "finished" and fully ready for testing. The program will not reach the "Beta" stage for about 2-3 months from now. jm
