Well many of us kids (even us not so young kids in their 40's) love it too.
(Fact is, I've yet to win at level 12 or above.)

Didzis is obviously a very strong player. Rated around 2000 Elo according to an
email he sent me earlier. Excalibur LCD Chess is not for him obviously. It
never was intended for players of his strength.

Some of us are very lucky I guess. Despite all our book reading, studying, and
practicing...many of us are still stuck with an Elo strength of 1000 to 1400 or
so.

Fortunately for us weaker players, we don't need to spend a lot of money on a
chess computer. The Excalibur handhelds are more than strong enough for us.

If anyone writes to me and tells me that they have an Elo strength of 1700 or
more...I'll be the first to steer them towards buying a Palm (or PocketPC) with
the appropriate software. (Chess Tiger or ChessGenius)

However, for the 85% of the chess playing world, we are more than satisfied with
our Excaliburs as we find them to be extremely challenging and fun to use.
Shoot, they even put up a damn good fight against far stronger computer
programs. Time and time again, I've seen my Touch Chess unit go well into the
middlegame (against a far stronger program) with superior position and/or
material. (But then it blows it in the endgame.)
