:)
This is from the sample eng file that I put in the zip-file. I do most of my
tests with my own engine so the sample file is to setup PolarEngine with added
all options that is default and strictly don't need to be in the file.

InitString should be set if the engine need to be feeded with any other command
than the normal xboard\nnew ..
For my engine I have a command 'polar' that enables comands that isn't strictly
xboard f.ex. 'hash'.

The hashsetting is also a polarengine command but this is quite common som many
engine use it like this. Some without the last 'M'. The '%i' is where the hash
number should be put in the string. The UCI-protocol say that this number is in
MB.
Hash is the default hashsize, the UCI-protocol recommend this to be a small
number, but it isn't important on the GUI's I have tested because the adapter is
getting the GUI's hashvalue before it set up the engine.
Finaly the HashOnCommandline is a booleon switch you could set to true if the
string you gave in 'HashCommand' should be put on commandline rather than as a
command after the engine has started. Ex. 'gerbil.exe -ht 16'

I don't have Gandalf so I don't know how this should be setup for this engine.

Based on your setup I would propose this.

[ENGINE]
Name=Gandalf 5.1
Author=Steen Suurballe
Filename=Wb2Uci.exe

[OPTIONS]
Program=Gandalf51 xboard
HashCommand=hash %iM
Edit=edit
Logfile=true

You could check the manual or start the engine in console mode to check how this
hash settings should be if it is possible to set it.
Also do a check if it need edit for setup the board. Most newer engine use
setboard, but I have seen from log's that edit work. If it support setboard also
it's better to use that because of the missing castling and enpassant
information in 'edit'.
