Hi vincent et al: The idea to out Odesta was mine and yes, it was a David Slate program in a 5,25 disk. I got a version that runned in Atari, the old one with 64 Kb Ram memory. The booklet was a lot bigger than the source code, but even so Odesta was good enough to beat 60% of the time my Chess Champion, the dedicated unit created by spracklen and champion in 1980, London. Nevertheless, Odesta never was a very distributed and popular program. That were the days of Cyrus, Colossus, Mychess and Sargon of course.
