Very interesting message from Ed:

 Hi Marcus,

You are right about that and more then you realize.

After the 2-2 against van Wely I have decided to withdraw from all competition.
Mind you, I am doing this stuff now for 21 years, I have participated 16
years in the top, Rebel is still well listed on a 6th place in Sweden only 40
points behind no.1, Rebel together with Chess Tiger won the last dutch-open,
also Rebel was second in Odyssey 2001. All very good.

Enough is enough, I am 51 and one has to stop somewhere and this is an
excellent moment.

From time to time I would like to fiddle a little with the engine, for instance
solve these horrible mistakes against van Wely, but no more competition.

Don't think I have lost my interest in computer chess, I still love it, but I
am going to fully focus on running the company (Tiger, Gandalf). The last thing
I
am going to do is the release of the Windows version of Century 4.

Future releases of Chess Tiger and/or Gandalf may contain the latest version of
Rebel as a free bonus with no hard guarantee it is better, the only
guarantee you will get is that the newer version will play different
