Yes, the result is considering a 5th place between forty six programs and Quark reached an impressive forth place: Quark beated Shredder too. Quark is a good and tested Program, so I am not surprise that can get a good result in this Tournament. > >If Diep is going to win against Shredder or Fritz or Gandalf then I am going to >see it as a surprise but not as a very big surprise. Paderborn is shor Tournament, so anything can happen: a bad opening line, a positional bug in the evaluation, reaching a position not understood by the program cause a big 0. Fritz has a tested and terrific opening Book. Shredder and Gandalf are good programs. But, it doesn't mean that they can loose. > >A possible win of Diep against other programs is not going to be considered by >me as a surprise and I guess that Diep is at similiar level like Quark or SOS or >Comet. Good, that is a supposition, only a supposition that are not based on real facts. Tell me, if you have tested the last Quark Versions so you can say that Quark cannot better than SOS o viceversa. Similar? How many game have you run to say that? The same thing applies to Diep. A8A > >Uri
