I saw the Northwood test at tom's. they were using all the standard non-chess benchmarks. i was very curious about the northwood kns with chess software. this answers my questions. wonder how bad your friends processor heat is at 2465mhz? also isnt the northwood .13 micron? if so then this test is not apples to apples. the xp is the old .18 die size, with the final release for this die anyday now. after this final mhz release for the .18, the hammer and others at .13 for amd should even be faster, we hope. should be cooler anyway. if this old .18 die is beating intel this bad, with intel using the new die, not sure what intel is going to do in this mhz war. i have my 2x1533mhz mp, but i am waiting to update my single processor. it is 1507mhz now. a real pansy. i want to get one of the new boards with the new xp amd release, but i think i will wait for the .13 micron. i would think in the next six months the amd .13 micron will be released. Aaron, are you running one of the water cooling kits? if yes then, is your heat exchanger inside your case? is the cooling fan for your heat exchanger loud? also did you have to unlock your xp to overclock? maybe you just left it locked and were able to get this speed by just raising the fsb? kburcham good luck and thanks for the info, kburcham
