The programs tested are always commercial quality for SSDF.  The only amateur
engine tested so far is Crafty (I believe that Yace may also be in the queue for
testing).

The slower the better for the quality of the games.  But the fewer that you can
create for calibration.

Matter of opinion, I suppose.  I would run whatever is the most pleasing to you.
