Exactly; this decides also (or mainly) which "Mark" type is calculated.

It is certainly not necessary to install the GUI of Fritz 7 AND Shredder 6 -
this is the same (GUI-)program. I think, two parallel installations will affect
each other's settings via the registry. I've read of that problem several times
now.

To solve that problem completely, I suggest:

1. backup the engine files
2. backup the Fritz7Update.exe, (or GUI7.iup, depending on what you have)
2. uninstall both programs
3. install one, and apply the update

(Of course all this should not affect the Shredder 6 "classic" GUI.)
