The reason for the surprising ranking of the complete list is the mode. It was a
team match with 3 different tournaments (Board 1 / 2 /3).

See also the web page of Mr. Franz Wiesenecker who did this tournaments, with
more tables, PGN download etc.

I think Kurt displayed the combined list just to give an comprehensive overview
(which prog played against which etc.).

I suppose if this would have been *one* big 9 rounds swiss (which wasn't
intended), the *pairings* would have been much different, and therefore the
ranks also. IOW, this shows the importance of a proper pairing system for more
reliable rankings, when the number of rounds is small (and what could happen if
there is none :o).
