I wouldn't call any problem created by Sam Lloyd a joke, he's my favorite chess
problem/mate composer of all time! Well one of them!;-)

You could say trick the reader, but actually he knew the postion was legal, it
was up to the solver to see past his bias, in this case to see castling is
possible.

All the problems I've solved by this composer have always been original and very
clever!

I'm glad though you're making adjustments for such problems in the future:)
