I am talking about other engines. Shredder, Frtiz, >Junior, etc. Perhaps they handle TB's differently. I don't follow you. Crafty doesn't do a search if the root position is in the tablebases... It just plays the best move. The "search" it does takes all of 5 milliseconds or so at best...
