I really wonder about those never-ending discussions about the SSDF list. In fact, it is a non-official rating list posted regularly by some computer chess fans who take it as a hobby. The SSDF is absolutely private and therefore has no responsibility for posting 100 % accurate lists. So I really wonder about all those angry young men who earn lots of money by selling their high-prized programs, who complain constantly about whether their program is under-, over- or whatever -rated. The thing is of course that the SSDF is in fact VERY ACCURATE, at least in comparison with some other private lists in the net. And because most people know that, they decide whether to buy a program after having read the SSDF list. How could the problem be solved ? There should be a really OFFICIAL list, which should be provided by an official group like the ICCA or the FIDE. There could be a list where only tournament results against humans should be counted. For this, the FIDE finally should allow programs to be included in ANY tournament. And those lists should be constructed using help of some mathematicians, in my opinion.
