I can confirm that (also under Win2K). I also tried it with a new compiled
Version (MSVC6) and get the same results. Maybe the problem
has to do with the rook vs. minor piece evaluation?
For 8/6R1/3k4/8/8/8/8/n4K2 b - - 0 1 4 this position I get:
