Good results for the programs are guaranteed with the time limit set. IMO a decent result for Fritz against Kramnik is also going to happen, due to the big money involved - and the mutal wish to maintain good relations. You can call it conspiracy or mutual understanding, whatever. Now, if you see the combination of "wanting to sell" and "wanting to win" as a token of the devil - yes then they are the devil. Personally I don't make that interpretation. > > How would it look?! "Our top programs faced experienced >> GM Gulko in 8 games and lost 2-6. And why should CB even take such a chance?! So, instead 60 min for the whole game - and for me it would be a big surprise if the programs failed to win it. imagine if kasparov were to play >gulko would you argue the same way?? Kasparov?? >I am sure Gulko knows that he faces an uphill battle and signed up for the match >knowing that it would not be a walk in the park. No idea, I don't know Gulko personally. He has been offered money to play a match vs computer programs. And he has accepted. It's his job - he is a professional Grandmaster. >By the way it is a well known fact that conputers of today play better with >longer time controls... IMO, playing game60 instead of 40/2 clearly favours the silicons. Sune > >Regards >Jonas
