However here are some exceptions (remember that every rule has an exceptin, even this one): 1. Programs are more likely to make a tactical mistake with less time. 2. Some people play better under pressure. 3. Adaptability (a virtue for humans) is amplified under pressure (time pressure works just fine 4. Practice at slow time contros against a program and any program weakness can be amplified under time (shallower computing depth) pressure. 5. My opinion is that traps can be set and exploited at faster time controls 6. Openings can be exploited under time pressure. 7. The more pieces on the board conbined with short time controls can lead to shallow searches (tactics and traps again). I play slow games to improve my chess, but I personally play quick games aginst the top programs when I want my best chance to win. I know for a fact that the programs are 2700 players on this hardware, but they are not invincible and Gulko can do well in this match. Go get em Gulko.
