Back in the 80's in the days of dedicated chess computers, I had a Novag Constellation. Then I bought a Novag 'Super' Constellation. I played a few games between them, and the earlier comp seemed to hold it's own against the later one. They both cost a fair bit, and I remember feeling a bit cheated on the supposed 'stronger' and later model super constellation. The reason was, of course, I had'nt played enough games. The randomness just happened to favor the weaker comp. This may be what's happened in your case. Of course, you would need to play both Fritz's against other programs to get a better idea. I can assure you Fritz 7 will come out ahead in time. I remember a poster called 'Tanya Devora' on this forum. Is that you, just changed the spelling a little? ...or did you marry a guy called 'Deborah'? :-D
