The King never stops pondering / querying / looping. After extracting the OPK number, exit CM and try to rename The King : once it is started, the King never stops pondering / querying / looping until you reboot. But you can make it stop pondering the current move on opponent's time to keep it honest : In the UCI forum I found a way to make ChessBase natives / UCI engines / True Winboarders / the king play honestly on the same hardware without stealing system resources / RAM / memory. You need to use the new / current version of 2 adapters : TheKing > InBetween > UCI2WB > GUI In the Inbetween.ini configuration file should be given NO commands concerning Hash / Pondering. In WB2UCI.eng only the following commands should be given : [OPTIONS] Program=C:\Chessbase\Engines\The King\TKing.exe InitString=cm_parm default\ncm_parm opk=?????? InitTime=2 Ponder=false Logfile=false ShowThinkingMove=true ProgressiveLevel=true Odd Gunner is a great CM fan so his default commands are rather biassed. Only with this setup you'll get honest results between the king and other engines on the same hardware.
