Hi Paul, Look at it this way... Be thankful for what you have, and enjoy your chess as a hobby, and not as an "addiction"... You could be doing alot worse! You could be spending your money on drugs rather than chess computors, etc. Chess is a wonderful way to keep your mind pure and clean in the sight of a holy God, the same God who gave us the gift of chess - just like the gift of music and the gift of mathamatics - and the ability to think; at least you are NOT spending your time lusting after women (when your mind is thinking about chess)! Those with hobbies will work harder at their jobs and be more productive in life... Chess, like music and mathamatics, will help keep a person more mentally fit and morally straight. It teaches us how to maintain a healthy memory - even into old age...My long life proves that..:-) As already well said by Jonas, work first, then "play"... but do not just "quit"... That would just be "will worship" as the Bible teaches. Those who have a zeal for chess will usually have a great zeal for God and a love for the truth as it is found in the Word of God, the Bible. Those who love God first will have a great love for life in general, and will live each day with a heart of joy. Chess is joy, joy that's found on 64 squares. It is always there even when you have to live alone in this world. Those who are at peace with God will be at peace with themselves, and nothing shall offend them...Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall see God... Best regards Art
