Hi,

For anyone interested in Computers and checkers, I'd strongly recommend
Jonathan Schaeffer's "One Jump Ahead", which relates the story of Chinook's
rise to the top of the world of checkers. It's not overly technical, but
it does give a really good insight into the psyche of the Chinook team and
of their opponents. An excellent read.
