4Ghz and you could have DB level play or better? I think that just to be close in nodes to see all that DB did would take 243+Ghz that's 5 tripples of clock speed from my 1Ghz , 569Kn/s So for Fritz to be equal or better on less hardware it has to have 450Elo made up in knowledge the 90elo figure might be incorrect but if you have to wait three times longer to get to the next ply so whatever the elo per ply is. now 4Ghz is 4x my computer or 2,276,000nodes per second 87.87346221 times slower than deep blue's reported figure or 200 million per sec. Still 4 tripples will get 184,356,000 nodes per second so pretty close but still that makes for 360elo according to 90 per tripple 90*4 360 so fritz is supposed to make up for 360elo. I guess it is possible seeing how Computers have got 2702 performance on the 4130Mhz system at dortmund . Amazing to see that if you look at it this way Deep Junior 6 on less Hardware Less nodes performed in the same leauge as Deep Blue then it really makes Deep Blue look really bad. I don't know if Bugs made Deep Blue perform less than it should've or what you've got to think that compareing the first game of match 2 looks like it is two different entities, So Deep Blue tuned better might have scored better so untill such time which looks like it will happed a quarter to never, Deep Blue's bugs must've caused it to now perform according to it's speed and the knowledge it is supposed to have, Diminishing returns or not, maybe this explains it.
