Chess Tiger on Pentium 75-120MHz is clearly stronger than Chess Tiger running on
a Palm.
Chess Tiger on Pentium 75MHz must be at least 2380 SSDF elo. On P120, it must be
at least 2420 SSDF elo.
Chess Tiger for Palm is probably between 2100 and 2200 SSDF elo.
But there are two things to consider:
1) this fall the Palms will be equipped with ARM processors running at various
speeds (200MHz to begin with, then 400MHz). At that time Chess Tiger will be on
these devices closer to P75-120 (however I expect it to be still 50 elo points
weaker).
2) Palms are much more convenient than laptops. They are lighter, run longer on
their batteries (much much longer), it is more convenient to play chess with a
stylus than with a mouse or trackball, and so on.
Now do your choice...
