Also I'm really only talking about Blitz. I have admitted that Fritz 7 is on top in my "Standard" database. But with less than 200 games each it's not a very strong case for either program being best. It seems to me that as some programmers "tune" their engines they are aiming at 40/2 and the SSDF list. I think this makes their engines not "peaked" for blitz. As an example, Fritz 6b is still ahead of Fritz 6e in my blitz database although I believe Fritz 6e is stronger at 40/2. (Only my opinion based on my database) Also Shredder 5/6 are both down in my blitz database but much higher in the "Standard" database. Thus I have the "feeling" that Shredder is not a good blitzer but tough at 40/2 (maybe for the same reason). Jim
