Subject: Gulko vs DJ7

Being one of the few people who uses DJ7 to play on ICC, I know it's *very*
strong against humans. It reached 3295 in blitz, playing anyone (anyone ==
humans and computers) at blitz time controls. When it started creaping past
3200 I would get at *least* two messages a day for 2 weeks, saying either
"..wow, is junior really good at blitz now or what.." or "..your hardware is
sick. if i had a computer like that, my home written program would have that
rating.."

I look over *each* and *every* game that my engines play (Project,
Project-Human, Experiment) on all my ICC accounts. Using Deep Shredder 5, when
a GM matched me, I usually cringed.

Example:

And yes, that's *NOT* one game. It was a 5 game blitz match. And Petrovich won
the match. (Petrovich is a GM. 2555.)

However, I have little fear playing anything with DJ7.

Azmaiparashvili is a GM. _2676_. 27th in the world.

What I saw today was a GM who _could__not__lose_. 2 losses in a row, and people
would start to doubt humans, and most of all, Gulko.

DJ7 played well. It tried like hell to open the position. It tried like hell
to get something going. It didn't happen.

Amir and Shay have a *great* program. They went toe-to-toe with one of the best
GMs in the world, and survived some of the strongest of anti-computer tactics.

Sure it was a *tad* boring to watch. (I bet it wasn't for Amir and Shay!) But
not every game can be the Super Bowl. And sometimes even the Super Bowl is
boring.

Anyway, just my two cents. ;)
