Subject: Tournament 4 Levels

Author: Sergio Martinez

Hi all.
I want to run a tournament with 32 engines of
winboard.
This tourney will be a round robin, single games between
programs and time control of 40/40, in a Pentium IV 1.3 ghz 12mb RAM
and Ponder OFF.

The idea is check differences between programs of each level (will be 4 levels
and 8 winboard engines in each one, f.e. Level 1 -> 8 programs +2400 ELO, Level
2 -> 8 programs between 2200-2400 ELO). Rating is based on my own rating list.

I have included new programs at the tourney:

Cerebro is a new interesting engine written by Antonio Senatorio (Argentina). I
think this engine have a good positional style. I think could be a surprise. But
its a beta engine, so we must wait to see the first results. The other new
engine in my tournament is Maronti (you know about it by the interesting
tourneys of Leo Dijksman, for example) by Luca Damiani.

I want to begin the tournament next friday or some day before, at moment engines
are ready.

If you are interested in your program participate in the tournament, send me a
message to Redfrerne@chess.net. The tournament will began in 10 days (more or
less).
