I don't know exactly how you sign up your program. Can you rate it with the rating which should be expected or not? If not this should change things too Maybe better give a call at ICC!) (Ofcourse it is best not to give it a much higher or lower rating If you loose with a much higher rating you will never be able to catch up against the program from which you lost If it is much stronger you expected the games you played that far should be disqualefied so no one looses points because of this. And you start with a new higher rating. ) If not this should change things too Maybe better give a call at ICC. Well if it is not as strong as expected the rating will drop automatcaly) On the other hand don't blame Robert and blame other operators Is not realy honest. The point that he is the programer of crafty does not put him on a special place as being an operator. The best way to overcome these problems (being not able to play test games on a chessserver) Is to make a gathering with all programmers who are operators on ICC or any other chessserver (You could do that here or an other forum or by email.) Make good arguments and rules And then all send these arguments and rules you came up with to the owners of the chessservers! Regards Marc van Hal
