IMO it's not crippled.
There is no proof whatsoever that Shredder6.ctg is worse than shredder6.bkt.
Even if it was, I dont think it's my problem or the problem of ALL the
tournament organizer who used this book, because it comes standard as a
shredder6 book. Nowhere, in any documentation does it say that this is a random
book.
If I am not wrong The Yace book was made from a bunch of pgn, without giving
perticular notice to its style, so I dont know if it's perticularly favoured.

Shredder6.ctg comes as a standard book for Shreddercb.

By the way, why do you think 1.b3 is so bad?
IMO, it didnt loose the game because of bad opening.
