Hi,

We did give an explanation I think, you may have missed it.

We had gone to 36 hours for a short time. Shortly after we had some server
problems. The sysop on our web server noticed the change in date on our script,
and since we hadn't had a problem before for a while before that, he asked us to
put it back to the way it was.

Now that we are on a more reliable server, I'd be open to going back to a 24 or
36 hour default on a trial basis.

As for the crash last week, I'm still not sure what happened. Certain
completely unrelated files were wiped clean - the counters, the current polls,
and the file which holds the next message number for the CCC. (This is what
messed things up here, the scripts rely on these numbers to be in sequence to do
sorting and filtering.) Nothing in the error logs. Oh well. I did add some
file locking to make sure two instances of the scripts don't try to write to the
same file at the same time, but I don't think this was the problem in this case.
