I know that mating with KQ vs KR with no tablebases is also easy for a lot of engines but I agree that it is not enough to tell the gui to use no tablebases and you need to tell also the engine to use no tablebases in the engine parameters if you want Fritz or Junior to use no tablebases . It seems to be almost irrelevant in comp-comp games because I expect the opponents of chessmaster not to let it to go to KQ vs KR thanks to tablebases and they will prefer losing position that chessmaster knows to win for example (KQRP vs KR).
