You're associating how people use the languages with the languages themselves. If somebody asks if he should use C or C++, you cannot reasonably make your recommendation based on how _other_ people typically use the languages. C++ performance is no better or worse than C performance because they're the _same thing_, until you start using C++ specific features, which you don't have to do. -Tom
