This "annoying yellow arrow" was first introduced in Fritz 6. My first
impression was probably the same as yours: "Ugh! What's that?" However, I soon
got used to it, and now I'd never dream of disabling it. When you're playing
against the PC it's superfluous, because you know what's going on, but if you're
playing an engine tournament it's a great help, especially if you only
occasionally glance at the monitor.

Just my 5 cents worth.....
