Very wrong (and I have no idea why you think there is "commercial hype" in my response). The reason that those specific versions of Windows are supported is because those are the ones it (meaning CM8000 -- NOT The King) was tested on, and those were the ones that The Learning Company told the development team it had to support. The King is a Winboard engine just like any other, with the exception of some copy protection to ensure that anyone who uses it actually owns the program. Therefore, it will work perfectly under DOS. How well The King works via an adapter is of no interest to the Chessmaster development team. Go ahead and run it under any true Winboard GUI and then feel free to make comments about its strength. jm p.s. If I pull the other leg, then you won't even have one to stand on....
