You need to go to the Tools menu, then "Internet Options...", then the "Advanced" tab, then scroll down to the Printing section. There you'll see "Print background colors and images" which you can turn on. You'll get the diagrams, but beware: if you print out pages from other sites you can get a lot of undesirable side-effects if the background is not 100% plain white. (I turn this setting on only for brief periods like when printing posts from this site. It would be nice to have a quick toggle for this setting!)
