If you are going to have to learn a new language to program in then get "C" or "C++" of course. If you already know how to program in another languagge then use it. You can decide later if the language you use is fast enough or not. I am still trying to learn to program in "C", but in the mean time, my program was written in good old Quick Basic and compiled with QB v.4.5. In the CCT4 tournemen, I could only search 6 or 7 plys in the time allowed, but I still had fun and my program is still getting stronger as I add more features. The main thing is to get started if you know how to program at all, if not then learn and then get started. You will never be finished unless you just quit, just ask all of those who have already written one. We just keep learning and changing our coding as time goes by. It is a life-time hobby. Bill
