Most probably you observe a q-search explosion, i.e. even the smallest search
at the leaves has to do a q-search, following more or less all possible
captures. In this constructed position there are possible many captures
and re-captures, and checks etc. It is not easy to get to a quiet position.

Most programs do not care very much about this problem, since such a
capture loaden position just would not occur in normal game play.
But some programs can handle it quite well.

A problem solver does not have this problem, because it does not do
any q-search ;-)

Cheers,
Heiner
