Subject: OP 2002 Nunn Test [60/120'] Is there something wrong with ChessTiger14?

Author: Kurt Utzinger

Date: 13:48:38 03/30/02

A lot of people surprised about the results of Chess Tiger 14 in our tournament
argue that there must be something wrong with the settings and so on. That's
nonsense, but I am going to check this on the basis of some critical positions.
By the way: I am convinced that the hour of ChessTiger14 in this tournament is
still to come!!

The above position arose between Hiarcs732 vs ChessTiger14 from the running OP
2002 Nunn Test Tournament, complete game below. White had played 19.exd5 when
the French program replied 19...Bd6. In his German comments in the CSS forum
[www.computerschach.de/forum], Michael Gurewich, who assist me in this matter,
wrote: 'Is ChessTiger blind? Black should play 19...Bxa3 20.bxa3 [if 20.Bxe5
Bxb2+-] exf4 with advantage for Black' I was wondering why ChessTiger could
oversee such a good possibility and made analysis with the program and some
others. The results on my Ath 1.4 with 32 MB hash are as follows [analysis
windows set to 'Sroll New Moves Only'] and you will realize that nothing is
wrong with ChessTiger's set up:
