Subject: Deep Blue Jr.

I was looking at a pdf file about Deep Blue and was interested in the fact that
DB had played commercial programs but ofcourse they didn't reveal which one.
At that time the program was supposed to be the best commercial which according
to the SSDF on the 200Mhz system was rated between 2390-2480 , since i am not
sure if fritz 5.32 was out when they played the games most likely the program
was rated closer to 2400-2420. DBjr. won 38 and lost 2 games for 95% +315 from
it's opponent compared to the way SSDF does it's calculations.(the Team said
300-500elo) This would put Deep Blue Jr. somewhere between 2730-2795 on the SSDF
list. Seeing how Commercial programs improved since then and DB had stayed the
same it might make sense to play more games against the P200 Hardware. I don't
think any programs have 95% against the top P200 programs yet. But look at the
Speed DB Jr. had, it did not have the equivalent of a 1.2Ghz Athlon so maybe
Programs aren't really that much better as some think? If they were then given
similar processing power said Program should out perform the top programs on the
list with their P200's. But obviously this is not the case.
