Thanks for your games Shredder did not understand that the rook is passive. I ask myself after seeing the game if it is truth that shredder is better than other top programs in the endgame. I know a correspondence player who told me that he was disappointed from shredder because he read that a grandmaster said that he always use shredder for endgames and he thought that shredder is better than other programs in the endgame when it is not the case based on analysis of his games. It is also not the case based on the last game [D]1r4k1/8/2b1p2p/p2p1p2/P1pP1Pp1/2P1P1P1/R1R2K1P/5B1r b - - In this position shredder played Rxh2+ and I prefer Rb1. Rxh2+ is not a losing blunder but shredder stupid evaluation helped it to lose the game many moves later( the stupid move e5 was one of the things that helped shredder to lose as I predicted). an interesting position from the game is the following position [D]8/8/2b4p/p1kpPp1r/P1p2Pp1/1rP1P1P1/6B1/1R1R2K1 w - - 0 100 I do not know if white wins the game but yace played Rxb3 cxb3 c4 dxc4 Bxc6 c3 Bxd5 c2 Bxb3 cxd1R+ Bxd1 and won the endgame. I did not check if white wins that endgame against the best defence. Uri
