Aside from some _very_ minor hardware issues (sure <5%) I'd expect 40/120 on 400Mhz to be completely equivalent to 40/40 on 1200 Mhz also according to time management. Yet some people (including you) seem to be very convinced that this is wrong. Could you give some additional explanations ? The point where I agree is that you can't compair sudden death time controls to n moves/m minutes time controls - so please someone explain with Ed's example above. Regards, Peter
