I have expierince with a spintel card I mentioned this before. Much programs could be optimized based on software. (I was an end user and also a beta tester of this product. I also did get it basicly for free.) It actualy was based on the fact that many programs still where optimized for a 386 machine. While the pentium 2 was already a long time on the market. It debuged the programs to optimise them. (also besides the spintel card there are many basic tweaks which can give you a higher bench mark, and you can find many of them on the net tomshardware page is one in the past you also had a list of tweaks on www.3dfiles.com but there are many other) About every program did get a better bench mark. With the software of the spintel card Except for chess programs because the do relay on pure hardware. Then again it could have been very intresting if he could have found the mistake of the curent chess programs . But I gues it was to dificult. Regards Marc
